My church teaches the false idea that there is not a universal church. My church has no argument to support this idea. It is only a statement.

There is a universal church. If you believe there is not a universal church, I ask you this, “Is there, then, only one local church?” The New Testament shows there is a universal church.

For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.” Ephesians 5:23 (KJV)

Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it.” Ephesians 5:25 (KJV)

Is Christ the head or all churches, or is He the head of only the first local church? Did Christ die for all churches, or did He die for only the first local church?
